Glens Falls Youth Baseball and Softball 2026 Season Information

GFYBSO 2026 Recreation Season Information

The Glens Falls Youth Baseball & Softball (GFYBSO) provides recreational baseball and softball at the East Field Recreation Complex each year for local boys and girls, beginning with Tee Ball through our 12-and-Under Majors Division.

The 2026 GFYBSO Recreation Season will begin on April 20, 2026  and run through June 20, 2026.  Teams may practice before April 20th, but it is expected that all teams will be practicing  the week of April 20th. The first games of the season are planned for Saturday, April 25th.

  • Each team will participate in 1–2 games per week

  • Practices are scheduled by our parent coaching volunteers

  • Teams will be selected in late March

  • Registration closes on Sunday, March 15

  • Late Registration through Sunday, March 22 (only if spots available)

  • Registered families will be contacted in early April

GFYBSO will follow all New York State Department of Health and City of Glens Falls regulations. Any applicable information will be provided to all players and families prior to the league opening.


2026 Registration Rates

Regular Rates (through March 15, 2026)

  • Tee Ball: $69

  • Bantam through Majors: $99

Plus $50 volunteer fee per player (refunded when a volunteer shift is worked).


Late Registration Rates (after March 15, 2026)

  • Tee Ball: $94

  • Bantam through Majors: $124

Plus $50 volunteer fee per player (refunded when a volunteer shift is worked).


All players will receive a jersey and cap (Baseball/Tee Ball) or jersey and visor (Softball).

Registration fees help cover field materials, mowing, garbage removal, utilities, insurance, league affiliation, equipment, uniforms, baseballs/softballs, umpire fees, and other operational costs.

GFYBSO is affiliated with Babe Ruth League and follows its age restrictions.


Jersey Sizing

You will be asked for your player’s jersey size during registration.

Player Equipment Information

At Glens Falls Youth Baseball & Softball, we work hard to keep participation affordable and straightforward for families.

Your player’s team jersey and hat (Baseball & Tee Ball) or jersey and visor (Softball) are included with your registration fee.

Below is a breakdown of equipment needs by division.


Tee Ball

Families should provide:

  • Black or gray baseball pants

  • Baseball glove

Recommended:

  • Cleats (not required, but encouraged for traction and safety)

  • Batting helmet (teams will have helmets available to share)

  • Bat — If purchasing a bat, ensure it has the “USA Baseball” logo. This certification will be required as players advance to Bantam Baseball.

Teams will also have extra bats available for players to share if needed.


Baseball (Bantam and Older)

Players should provide:

  • Black or gray baseball pants

  • Baseball glove

  • Approved bat with “USA Baseball” logo

  • Batting helmet (jaw guard strongly suggested)

  • Baseball cleats (no metal spikes allowed)

  • Black baseball socks (suggested)

Catchers (Bantam Division): Catcher’s gear is supplied by the league on a loaned basis. Additional catcher equipment is available for older divisions upon request.


Softball (Bantam and Older)

Players should provide:

  • Black or gray softball pants

  • Softball glove

  • Approved bat with USSSA 1.20 BPF stamp

  • NOCSAE-approved batting helmet with face protector

  • Softball cleats (no metal spikes allowed)

  • Black softball socks (suggested)


Additional Notes

  • Coaches may provide additional guidance regarding specific pant or sock color preferences for their teams.
