Glens Falls Youth Baseball & Softball provides recreational baseball and softball at the East Field Recreation Complex for local boys and girls, beginning with Tee Ball through our 12-and-Under Majors Division.
The 2026 recreation season is scheduled to run from April 20 through June 20. Teams may begin practicing before the season opens, with games expected to begin shortly after Opening Day weekend.
Season Overview
- Teams typically play 1–2 games per week.
- Practices are scheduled by volunteer coaches.
- Teams are generally selected in late March.
- Registered families will be contacted in early April.
- GFYBSO will follow all applicable New York State Department of Health and City of Glens Falls regulations.
Registration Rates
Regular Registration
- Tee Ball: $69
- Bantam through Majors: $99
Late Registration
- Tee Ball: $94
- Bantam through Majors: $124
A $50 volunteer fee per player is added at registration and refunded when a volunteer shift is completed.
All players receive a jersey and cap for Baseball/Tee Ball or a jersey and visor for Softball.
What Registration Covers
Registration fees help cover field materials, mowing, garbage removal, utilities, insurance, league affiliation, equipment, uniforms, baseballs/softballs, umpire fees, and other operational costs.
League Affiliation & Age Charts
GFYBSO is affiliated with Babe Ruth League and follows Babe Ruth age restrictions.
Player Equipment Information
GFYBSO works to keep participation affordable and straightforward for families. Team jerseys and hats/visors are included with registration.
Tee Ball
- Black or gray baseball pants
- Baseball glove
- Cleats encouraged, but not required
- Batting helmet recommended; team helmets will be available
- USA Baseball bat recommended if purchasing a bat
Baseball — Bantam and Older
- Black or gray baseball pants
- Baseball glove
- Approved bat with USA Baseball logo
- Batting helmet; jaw guard strongly suggested
- Baseball cleats; no metal spikes
- Black baseball socks suggested
Catchers: Catcher’s gear is supplied by the league on a loaned basis for Bantam Division. Additional catcher equipment may be available for older divisions upon request.
Softball — Bantam and Older
- Black or gray softball pants
- Softball glove
- Approved bat with USSSA 1.20 BPF stamp
- NOCSAE-approved batting helmet with face protector
- Softball cleats; no metal spikes
- Black softball socks suggested
